I will assume you’ve already drafted your fantasy team, but if not, take this advice on who to sit as who to draft for the first four weeks.

The must start Patriots player for the Cardinals game will be Patriots defense.

1. Patriots Defense.

If the Pats win it’ll be a 17-10 win, if they lose, it’ll be 17-10. Maybe not exactly, but around that score unless one team begins to turn it over like crazy, then a blowout will be likely. The Patriots will rely heavily on the defense with a game-managing type offense. If the defense doesn’t play well the Pats will not win, if they play well, they have a chance and this defense is that good. They can be trusted, I’d start them every week against anyone.

2. RB James White.

I like him for the first four weeks because he will be the guy they use the most to keep the offense safe. Screens and dump-offs will become Garoppolo’s best friend. White had a great season last year even better preseason, he’s the number one pass-catcher until Dion Lewis returns. He will also split time running the ball with Blount.

3. Julian Edelman.

To be honest, I wouldn’t start Edelman because I don’t know how quickly Garoppolo can get rid of the ball to Edelman. I’d be tempted to start Edelman solely for the reason I think Jimmy will constantly look his way. But, it’s the first game of the season and I really don’t know who will emerge as Jimmy G’s favorite target, so tread lightly with Edelman and wait to see. If Edelman catches 8 passes for over 80 yards you can start him when you like for the next four weeks, but if he only catches 3-5 for 30 yards or so, don’t worry about him until Brady plays.
