The Patriots and WR Mohamed Sanu have mutual interest in one another, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Globe. If Jeff Howe reports it, I believe it. This move would make perfect sense for each party.

The league year will start today at 4:00 pm EST and I expect the Patriots to make a few moves, this being one of them.

The Patriots will not resign safety Tavon Wilson, according to WEEI’s Ryan Hannable.

Wilson was the 2012 2nd round pick for the Patriots.

The Patriots will bring back DT Alan Branch, a very smart move for both. The Pats informed the DT they will pick up his $400,000 bonus due today. Branch finished a great season with 35 tackles and one sack. All of this reported by ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

FB James Develin will return to the Patriots for another season, he released a statement excited to remain a Pat.

RB LeGarrette Blount will hit the open market if the Patriots can’t reach a new deal with him, but they are suppose to be in negotiations.

Patriots sign OT LaAdrian Waddle to a two year contract extension, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

The rumor mill is working on a few other free agents the Patriots are interested in, RB Bilal Powell and WR Rishard Matthews among them.

I can see Matthews making a good fit and I could see the Patriots signing Powell, but if they won’t bring back Blount they need a Forte or Ivory to be the number one back. Powell would make an excellent number two running back whose pretty good at catching passes too.

Old news but I never posted it, DL Sealver Siliga and the Patriots are parting ways.

WR Jeremy Ebert signed to the team’s practice squad.

Get ready and excited for much more news later today!
