Patriots trade for Bears Guard Ryan Groy

The Patriots have traded rookie LB Matthew Wells for Chicago Bears Offensive Guard Ryan Groy, according to NFL Media’s Rand Getlin and ESPN’s Field Yates.

Groy signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent from Wisconsin. He was promoted from practice squad to the active roster in November, playing in four games and making three starts.

The Pats needed added depth and they got it.
