New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Patriots Vs Chargers: 3 Players To Watch

We are closing in on Brady Vs Rivers and another important game for the Patriots. The Pats could afford to drop one of the two road games between the Packers and Chargers; well they dropped the one to Green Bay, so they can’t drop this one. Getting the number one seed in the AFC is very important for the Patriots and their Super Bowl chances.

Here are the 3 players that can ensure a road win for New England with a good performance.

1. CB Darrelle Revis: He has been outstanding this year, especially against great competition. Overall, his performance was stellar against Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb last week, along with Browner. Revis will get the Chargers number one guy Keenan Allen this week. Rivers, unlike a lot of Quarterbacks, will throw at the other team’s number one corner, he’s a gunslinger, and it’s what they do. He throws caution to the wind a lot, so interceptions should be more possible with him on Sunday. He throws to Allen a lot, so if Revis can shut him down, it should make for a very frustrated Rivers offense.

2. LB Dont’a Hightower: Biggest question is will he play? He is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury that’s been bothering him. He was outstanding against the Packers, and he’s been the team’s led linebacker all season. He’s played himself into a big contract one day and the led linebacker spot.  He very well may have played Mayo out of a contract too, depends on Kraft. Hightower is very good and it’ll be a big blow to the defense for them to lose their leader. The Pats blitzing is their best weapon to get after the QB, and he’s a great blizter. He can create a nightmare for Rivers tomorrow and also get Rivers to throw some INTS.  He can also stop the run, which the Pats will need tomorrow against a capable back like Mathews.

3. WR Brandon LaFell: He was great against the Packers along with Edelman and Gronk. Sunday, Edelman will most likely draw the Chargers number one guy Flowers, and regardless of how he handles it, LaFell needs to continue to step up for Brady. With teams giving their number one corner to Edelman and doubling Gronk, he should be getting more catches and touchdowns, and as long as he keeps delivering, the Pats will score.
