Report: Aaron Dobson to miss remainder of season

The Patriots will place WR Aaron Dobson on season ending IR with a hamstring issue, according to reports.

Dobson has been a healthy scratch for 8 games this season, including five times in a row before becoming active against the Packers. On the first play in, Dobson chased a deep ball and came up hobbling. It’s considered a serious hamstring injury.

In March, Dobson had a screw inserted into his foot that kept him out of the Pats off-season workouts. He finally debuted at training camp on August 11th. It took an extra few weeks before he earned his full workload.

In 2013, his rookie season, Dobson caught 37 passes for 519 yards and four touchdowns.

This year he has caught 3 passes for 39 yards. He hasn’t caught more than one pass in a game this season, but he has barely played even when active.

I would be surprise if Dobson remains with the Patriots next year, giving the emergence of WR Brandon LaFell, and Dobson isn’t making much impact.
