New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Jets Vs Patriots Preview

We are almost there for Patriots football once again. The upside to TNF is seeing the Pats quicker, down side is a longer time to see them again!

The Jets are coming into this game badly needing a win while the Pats try to overcome injuries and get another win in the division.

The Pats will look to stop the Jets run making them one-dimensional and making them lean on the passing game. The Pats won’t send much pressure after Geno Smith because they will need to stop his running too. Geno can do damage with his legs so the Pats will look to take that away and force him to rely solely on his arm. Don’t expect a lot of pressure tomorrow night.

Darrelle Revis will look to shut down Eric Decker, the Jets number one guy, and I have all the confidence he can do that. I’m more worried about the number two guy, Jeremy Kerley. He’s the one who burnt the Pats last year in New Jersey. If Browner plays, he might be on Kerley and if he isn’t, my guess is Dennard or Ryan. Whoever it may be, needs to keep Kerley from burning them with speed. My guess is the Pats use Ryan’s speed to stick with Kerley and move Browner on tight end Jace Amaro, who’s a big guy. Browner is close to his height and size. The Pats are known for making moves like this, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Browner on Amaro, who leads the Jets with catches. The Pats struggled to cover tight end Scott Chandler last week, so stopping the tight end is a riddle the Pats need to solve.

On offense, it always starts with protecting Tom Brady. I’m unsure if Stork or Connolly will play. There’s a chance both play, both miss, or one of them plays. My guess is neither plays because neither has been practicing this week. Either way, they might be without two starting offensive linemen against a stout Jets defense. Against a good Bills rushing attack, they held their own without both of these players and will need to do it again. Josh Kline may get in the fold against the Jets and I’m interested in seeing how well he does. He’s been good so far. The Pats have to step up against blitzes cause they will see a lot of them. Vollmer and Solder have to step up tomorrow against the best rushers on the Jets in Richardson and Wilkerson.

If they keep Brady upright, he should be able to find people and find touchdowns. Gronk should have a big game because it seems like the Jets struggle a little with big tight ends. Their biggest struggle is against speedy wide outs. LaFell should give them fits and Gronk should give them fits too. Relying on these two I think will help the Pats out. I expect a big game from LaFell again against this defense. The Jets like to bracket receivers, so the Pats may dink and dunk it or get Vereen out against the linebackers. If the guys for New England can get off the jams, they should find it easy getting open against the Jets secondary.

The Pats may try to find a running game against the Jets, who have given up over a 100 yards in the last two games.

I say it’ll be a mixture of both for the Patriots tomorrow night, but maybe more runs than we have seen.
