New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Free Agent Tight End Scott Chandler

The Buffalo Bills starting tight end Scott Chandler will be a free agent in March.

The Patriots are in the market for a tight end to go with Gronkowski and possibly start if Gronk misses some playing time this year.

Scott Chandler is the kind of player the Patriots would sign. It makes complete sense and I would not be a surprise to see them sign Chandler.

The Patriots love the motto “If you can’t beat them join them”! Some of Chandler’s best games have been against the New England Patriots.

In 2012 Chandler caught a combined 127 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Patriots in their 2 meetings. This past season he caught a combined 93 yards against the Patriots. Keep in mind, he had a rookie QB and a backup. He still finished the season as the leading receiver for the Bills with 53 receptions for 655 yards and two touchdowns.

He is 6’7 and 270 pounds! His frame would be ideal to help out New England in the red zone! This was an issue when Gronk went down for the season.

He ranked 3rd in percentage of roues that he ran that went for first downs or touchdowns in 2012.

Something the Patriots love to hear.

Scott Chandler is a pretty good player on a very bad team with bad Quarterbacks. Imagine him with the likes of Tom Brady! Imagine him playing alongside a healthy Gronk whenever that may be!

If the Patriots want a tight end they know and can pick up first downs and touchdowns with great size for cheap money then Scott Chandler is the guy.
