Patriots never reached out to Brandon Lloyd

A mid – week report indicated that the Patriots was one of six teams to reach out to WR Brandon Lloyd about the possibility of rejoining the Pats this year.

NFL Media columnist Mike Silver stated Thursday night that the Patriots never called Lloyd and Lloyd rejoining the team is NOT happening.

Silver’s statements are backed by Greg Bedard, who used to cover the Patriots for Boston Globe. New England didn’t inquire about Lloyd, Bedard confirms. “If anything,” Bedard explained, “they called him to set their emergency list like they do at every position to see who might be available should the worst happen.”

Even though the rookies struggled with drops the Pats are not desperate enough to bring back a guy who was rumored to be bad for the locker room.

Lloyd reportedly is “neither physically or mentally ready” to play football this year. Even if he was ready or will be ready soon, the Patriots are unlikely to go grab him.
