Rob Gronkowski has surgery

Rob Gronkowski had surgery today according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Its unknown how long Rob Gronkowski will be out though. Most say four to six weeks before he returns. He might not even make an appearance again this season till the playoffs start. That is when the Patriots will definitely need him. When asked for an update on the tightend head coach Bill Belichick said, “I don’t really have anything. I know that our medical people are looking at all the players today when they come in, trying to assess their situation, like we always do on Monday. I’ll catch up with them as they’ve had a chance (to gather that information).”

Rob Gronkowski broke his forearm on the final extra point of the game with 3:55 minutes to play. When asked why Gronkowski was still playing Belichick said, “It’s one of his roles and jobs at the game,Whoever does it, it’s very important.”

Tom Brady offered his thought on Rob Gronkowski injury on his weekly appearance on the WEEI sports radio show in Boston. “I knew he had gotten injured, but I obviously didn’t know the extent,”But he’s such a great player, it sucks that he gets hurt, but it’s part of this game. He’s got to do his best to get back as soon as possible, and we’ve got to go out there and win some games without him.”
