Patriots Releasing Wide Out Josh Gordon

The Josh Gordon era in New England is over.

The wide receiver is being released by the undefeated Patriots according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, this after being taken off injured reserve.

The receiver will head to waivers where he could be claimed by a new team as early as Friday.

Gordon has been on the shelf with a knee injury. He was pulled from the Pats week six Thursday night affair against the Giants, and was put on IR last Wednesday.

This season Gordon has pulled in 20 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown in six games.
