Tom Brady Gives His Reasoning for Not Being at OTA’s – Yet Again

It’s like a broken record each and every year, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady skips optional offseason practices with the Pats, and then when he shows up when everyone has to..aka mandatory..he has to talk about it.

If you look at water sports betting or betting on the NFL, there’s nothing that is stopping Vegas from loving the Pats again this season to win their seventh NFL title, as they are right at the top – yet again, in the AFC to be the best team.

As for Brady, he as usual took to the podium at mandatory OTA’s for the Patriots and gave his reasoning for why he didn’t show up with the rest of his teammates for a couple of days of practice.

“I have a family at home and they get some of my time and energy and my wife is a very ambitious woman and she travels a lot so just trying to divide some responsibilities at home,” Brady explained.

“She supports me a lot, my family supports me a lot. My kids aren’t getting any younger so just trying to spend the time with them when I can and get the other things done that I need to get done and be ready to go when it’s time to go.”

Sure there’s going to be changes with the Patriots this season. They no longer have all-world tight end Rob Gronkowski, who retired this offseason, but at the same time, this team has added some pieces and parts that should be able to again make them the best team in the division.

Brady is still at the very top of his game. Look at what he did at the end and in overtime of the AFC Championship Game in Kansas City, and look at how he played like a conductor the Rams in the Super Bowl.

There’s no question that the questions will continue to be asked, but for Brady, he always seems to say the right things about the team, his teammates, and why he doesn’t bother coming to the optional part of OTA’s.

“We’re trying to get ready individually and collectively,” he said.

“Everybody has different things they have to do. I think our coaches do a great job of preparing our guys. Individually, guys are coming out here and trying to get better and I’m doing the same thing. When we come together like this it gives us a chance to see where we’re all at.”
