New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

AFC East Podcast: Preseason Week 2

The New England Patriots are still the cream of the crop in the AFC East. The loss in week two of the preseason to the Houston Texans.

Running back Rex Burkhead played well. He had 7 carries for 20 yards and 3 catches for 50 yards. D.J. Foster also made his presence felt. He was everywhere. Foster could be the best all-purpose player in the AFC East. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski made two extra points and three field goals. This is a big deal seeing as how some teams can’t find a kicker that’s consistent.

On the defensive side, Justin Coleman had a great game. He only allowed one catch while being target six times. Malcolm Butler had a rough week. He gave up a 37-yard touchdown to Bruch Ellington. The Patriots defense isn’t fully polished just yet. But they’ll surely get there. Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia will figure things out.

The Patriots are definitely winning the AFC East at this point. No other team will be a true challenge.
