The Patriots have signed former Bears linebacker Shea McClellin to a three year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

McClellin was drafted by the Bears in the 2012 draft (19th overall) and played defensive end until 2014 when he was moved to LB. He played for three head coaches in four years which probably did not help his ability or inability to live up to first-round hype.

McClellin has experience in rushing the passer, and covering tight ends and playing in space. If anybody can get the most out of a defensive guy like McClellin it will be Belichick.

McClellin played in 52 games and recorded 161 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 1 FF, 2 FR, and 2 passes defended.

Shea Mcclellin has not even met with the Patriots yet. Where this news story came from is a mystery. l hope this does not get in his way of finding a team.
