The Patriots will play the Jets on Sunday at 1:00 pm EST in New Jersey on CBS.

The Patriots are playing to clinch the number one seed overall, while the Jets are still fighting for a wild card spot in the postseason.

The Patriots will be without both starting safeties Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung, and both wide receivers Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman. I have no idea how they are going to win this game against a desperate Jets team with all of the injuries to key players.

Duron Harmon and Tavon Wilson will start in the places of McCourty and Chung. Harmon will have to help Ryan against either Decker or Marshall to ensure no big plays happen while Wilson will focus on the tight end for the Jets. No easy task for these two. The defense will stop the run first and foremost because you do not want a good defensive team running the football and wasting away the clock while scoring points, so the Patriots will try to force the Jets to the air with Hightower back in action. The second thing will be stopping Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall, something the Patriots struggled with the last time. Butler will face Decker, and Ryan with safety help will battle Marshall. The Patriots defense will try to make this an air attack because it’s their best bet to help their team win.

The Patriots offense will try to run the football with Steven Jackson. I think we will see a lot of Jackson tomorrow because the Patriots will want to see what they have in him and I expect more than a few goal line chances for Jackson if the Patriots get that close. The Jets run defense is stout, but the Patriots will test them enough times Sunday. They will try to run successful or not they will go to the ground game a good often amount. They will also pass a ton, no worries there, because it is their best weapon. Tom Brady will look for the quick passes to protect the OL but they need to step up because the current wide outs simply don’t get open fast enough. Everything tomorrow will be short routes and short passes for Brady and I assume a lot of throws to the back to avoid pressure. James White and Scott Chandler will need to step up in a big way, especially since I believe Revis will cover LaFell. I do expect the Patriots to design plays to get the Jets linebackers in coverage, their weakness. I don’t think we will see a very pretty offense, but we will see I guess.
