Time to find the players and the areas of yesterday’s loss to the Eagles that deserve some doughnuts for an awesome performance.

1. QB Tom Brady:

Bravo Sir, bravo. The second straight week the Patriots were without two top targets, Gronk and Edelman and it showed. Brady, however, managed to score 28 points with 14 of those points coming in the fourth quarter and within a few minutes of each other. He was the brightest spot on offense, throwing a touchdown pass to Amendola, Chandler, and James White.

2. RB James White:

Will the real pass-catcher please stand up? I think White is in the Brady gang after his performance Sunday, but we will see for sure on Sunday Night football. James White had one amazing day. He lead the day for all pass-catchers, catching 10 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. He’s proved himself elite, they need to stick with him.

3. Pass Defense:

They had a few negative moments but for the most part they were excellent the very few times they were actually on the field. I think it’s safe to say the Patriots have their number one and number two corner and they are elite. If you don’t know who I’m talking about it’s Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan. The safeties may be the two best in the country, McCourty and Chung. What a secondary. Call me crazy, but I’d take this secondary over the Jets secondary.

I usually give out doughnuts to five players or units, but not this time. These three deserve it, the rest can get better and dine on humble pie.
