The Patriots will most likely be without star WR Julian Edelman for the remainder of the regular season, but are hopeful he will return in time for the playoffs.
NFL’s Albert Breer reported that Edelman had surgery on Monday to have a screw inserted into his foot and his timetable to return is 6-8 weeks.
That puts him right on track for the postseason, and include a probable bye week, an extra week to prepare for MiniTron.
The chances the Patriots make the Super Bowl are still high because Edelman should return to the playoffs, but the road to undefeated just got a little tougher.
We should see him back in January because he is one of the toughest players in the NFL.
