The Patriots RB Dion Lewis will miss the season due to an ACL tear, according to the Boston Globe and ESPN.
Dion Lewis suffered the injury during the 3rd quarter of the game against the Redskins, when he was tackled from behind by a Redskins defender. He grabbed for his left knee and left the field with tears in his eyes.
It’s a big loss to the Patriots, he added another unique, special player and weapon for Tom Brady to throw too, and he was very hard for any team to cover, and nobody had covered him to this point. His speed and joy stick juke moves will not be replaced, but the Pats can recover from this. Brandon Bolden filled in for Lewis during the Redskins game and caught an 18 yard touchdown pass. He has the talent and experience in being a pass-catcher and then there is the speedy James White, who might get to prove himself.
I feel much worse for Dion Lewis than the Pats because this is a player who really wanted to finish the entire season and do something special after everything he has been through. He made it through 8 games and was a really huge part of the reason the Patriots are still undefeated.
Thank you Dion Lewis for everything you brought to the Patriots this year, and I wish and pray for a speedy recovery!
