The Patriots may have found their pass-catcher out of the backfield on Thursday Night in Dion Lewis, but their number one back and power runner LeGarrette Blount will return next Sunday.

The Patriots activated LeGarrette Blount to the 53 man roster today.

The Patriots released LB Eric Martin to make room for the running back.

Blount missed the first game of the regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program on Substance of Abuse.

Basically, Blount had some Blount in the car with Steelers RB Le’veon Bell last year.

Bell missed the opener with the Steelers Thursday, serving his two game suspension for the pot, he and Blount had in a car last year.

Blount will make his debut against the Buffalo Bills next Sunday.
