Tom Brady was one of the Patriots starters to be sent home before the final preseason game to rest after early workouts, and an early courtroom win for Brady.

The last preseason game was sloppy for both teams. The entire scoring for both teams were via the kickers.

QB Ryan Lindley played the entire game for the Patriots and he played like 3rd string QB.

He was 22/45 for 253 yards and 1 interception. He also had a fumble.

He led the Pats to three field goals, all made by the wonderfully clutch Stephen Gostkowski.

Gostkowski’s longest attempt was from 50 yards out.

Rufus Johnson and Trey Flowers were amazing last night and a big reason the Giants managed four field goals and no touchdowns. They manhandled the Giants line. Flowers will be huge for the Pats this season and Johnson has played himself onto this team. Depth is not a problem for the Pats line.

Aaron Dobson made some nice plays, catching four passes for 54 yards, so he’s probably beaten out Chris Harper, who will likely land on the Pats practice squad.

LeGarrette Blount won’t be playing next Thursday, so he played a good amount last night, and he did good. He ran 10 times for 24 yards behind an absolute horrible OL and caught 4 passes for 54 yards.

The Patriots may have shown their starting corners by not playing them last night. The starters, look to be Malcolm Butler, Tarell Brown, and Bradley Fletcher. Robert McClain and Logan Ryan saw plenty of action last night and it went pretty good for Ryan. Giants QB Ryan Nassib was 1 of 7 for 19 yards when targeting Ryan. McClain’s night was not good, giving up all 3 completions in his directions for 25 yards. Ryan will probably make the team, it was a solid night and the Pats drafted him in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft, so they probably won’t let him go just yet. McClain on the other hand, he’s not a safe bet right now. It won’t surprise me if they keep both or let one go.

Reggie Wayne played a little bit and looked really good. He was always open, even though the QB couldn’t get him the ball.

James White played and looked good. RB is a spot the Pats have plenty of depth.

The Pats will be trimming down the players by tomorrow’s deadline and then begin preparing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
