The Patriots went back to work yesterday for their 13th practice of training camp and were back in full pads for the 9th time.

Did Not Practice: WR Julian Edelman, WR Aaron Dobson, WR Brandon LaFell, CB Darryl Roberts, RB Travaris Cadet , LB Dane Fletcher, OL Ryan Wendell, C Bryan Stork, OL Caylin Hauptmann, DE Rufus Johnson, DT Joe Vellano, DE Trey Flowers, TE Jake Bequette, TE Scott Chandler, DT Chris Jones.

Logan Ryan and James White were back on the field, so that’s some great news for the Pats, especially with another RB getting healthy. Edelman, Dobson, and Chandler jogged with the team before going to the side field to condition. The Pats are most likely being extra cautious with Edelman, knowing already what he is capable of, he really doesn’t need extra reps. Dobson, however, is puzzling because he more than anybody needs to be out there competing and if another injury is keeping him sideline this long, it could spell trouble for the WR. Or, maybe he’s impressed enough that the team feels comfortable being extra cautious with him too. OL Tre Jackson was carted off the field during practice. Sources told The Boston Herald that he will be fine, he suffered heat-related body cramps. That’s good news for an already thin unit.

QB Tom Brady was 17-29 with an interception during 11-on-11s. There was no 7-on-7s yesterday.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo was 9-13 with an interception. Brady received the bulk of reps yesterday.

CB Tarrel Brown had both interceptions during a situational drill. The Quarterbacks had to toss the ball in the end zone from the 20-25 yard line for an end game hail Mary type play. Garoppolo was 1-2 with a completion to Josh Boyce and Brady was 0-3. Geneo Grissom would have had the sack on Garoppolo before his pass to Boyce if it was a real game. Duron Harmon broke up the Brady pass and Brown grabbed it off the deflection, the 2nd INT came after Amendola bobbled Garoppolo’s pass into Brown’s hands.

The practice was mostly situational work, 4 minute offense, 2 minute offense, late game plays, and they also worked on getting into field goal range.

LeGarrette Blount broke through for a 50 yard gain during the 4 minute period and took a knee at the one, to run the clock out. The coaches were happy about that.

The practice lasted two and half hours long and the heat was blistering.

The Patriots will practice today and it will be closed to the public but open to the media.

Tom Brady will NOT be at today’s practice due to being in court for his hearing against the NFL tomorrow.
