Patriots star RB LeGarrette Blount suffered an MCL sprain in Friday’s practice, according to The Boston Globe’s Shalise Manza Young.

Blount is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, although he will sit the first game due to a suspension for a marijuana incident that occurred last year with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Blount was having a wonderful camp before the injury occurred, proving he was by far the Pats best running back.

Running backs Jonas Gray, Brandon Bolden, James White, Travaris Cadet, and Dion Lewis will have an opportunity to make the team and carve out a bigger role within the offense.
