The New England Patriots have reached a three-year extension with their punter Ryan Allen, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. The new deal for Allen will take him through the 2018 season.
Allen will have the option to renegotiate after two seasons. He was an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana Tech.
The Patriots now have their kicker and punter locked up long term.
Allen put 25 of his 66 punts last season inside of the 20 yard line. He averages 46.1 yards per punt with a net average of 40.2.
Allen is 25 years old.
In other news, the Pats re-signed rookie WR Zach D’Orazio. The 24 year old played his college ball at Akron. He’s 6’2 and 212 pounds.
