Last Thursday, Tom Brady kept his word and attended Salem State University for a speaking engagement.
The QB was greeted by loud applause from the audience members, decked out in Patriots gear.
The QB was interviewed by Jim Gray, to talk about Super Bowl 49 and of course, The Wells Report. This was before the punishment was handed down to Tom Brady by the NFL.
Gray started by saying, “There’s an elephant in the room.”
“Where?” Brady replied.
Brady was then asked about The Wells Report and he said he had no reaction to it, at least not publicly.
“I don’t have any reaction,” Brady said. “Our owner commented on it yesterday. It’s only been 30 hours, so I haven’t had much time to digest it fully, but when I do, I’ll be sure to let you know how I feel about it.”
He didn’t give a date and time when he will release a statement about The Wells Report, which he still hasn’t spoken about.
“There’s still a process that’s going forth right now, and I’m involved in that process,” Brady said. “Whenever it happens, it happens. And I’ll certainly want to be very comfortable in how I feel about the statements that I make.”
Gray asked Brady if The Wells Report took away any joy from winning the Super Bowl 49.
“Absolutely not,” Brady said.
Gray asked Brady if the Super Bowl was now tainted, Brady let the crowd answer in a resounding No, and agreed with them.
