Patriots sign WR Brandon Gibson

The Patriots have sign former Rams and Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Gibson to a one-year deal worth $825,000.

I liked Gibson a few years ago when the Rams released him and I still like him today. He could be a nice return for cheap money for the Patriots.

His role in the offense would be to play outside receiver opposite Brandon LaFell and slot wide out with Edelman. He could be like LaFell and have a good season. He’s 6’0 tall and could offer some length to the wide outs. He will add good hands and solid play. He’s a veteran and he played for OC Josh McDaniels.

A report today mentions the Pats might sign 2 more wide outs and keep Amendola and let them battle it out. Gibson may be the first of two for the Pats this off-season.

He might make it through camp and might not, but he’s worth this deal to see what happens.
