The Patriots will travel to face their division foes the New York Jets in an important game for the division champs Patriots, win and the Pats are one game closer to clinching the first – round bye.

Here are the three players for New England to watch on Sunday.

1. CB Kyle Arrington: Arrington Vs Kerley! This is a very important matchup for the Patriots and one they need to win. I’m going to assume Revis can handle Harvin and Browner can handle Decker and that should hurt the Jets a lot, but taking away Kerley will make sure the Jets have zero passing ability. The Pats 3rd guy has struggled, Butler last week against Wallace struggled, but we will see which one plays this week. Could be Butler again, Arrington, or Ryan, either way one of them needs to step up their game and give the Pats confidence going forward. I like Arrington the best and can seem him match up with Kerley. In 2013, Kerley had his way with CB Logan Ryan and caught 8 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. This year in game one, Kerley only caught 2 passes for 29 yards, still can’t underestimate him and his ability. He’s a good player so Arrington has to be ready.

2. SS Patrick Chung: In the first meeting this year, tight end Jeff Cumberland did a lot of damage in the passing game against the Patriots, catching 3 passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. Chung will need to step up to slow him down and make sure he doesn’t hurt them again this Sunday, especially if the Pats want to win. The Pats will also need to deal with Jace Amaro too, although he was kept in-check the first time around. The tight ends are capable for New York, so New England has to take them away. Chung has had a good season, he needs to continue that this weekend.

3. WR Julian Edelman: He will most likely go against a slightly taller Darrin Walls on Sunday, and he needs to win more than Walls. Danny Amendola benefited from all the attention Edelman, Gronk, and LaFell saw, but Edelman has to play better this time around. In the first meeting he caught 4 passes for 44 yards. Edelman has been on a roll the past two games, catching 15 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns. He needs to continue that role and help out Brady and give him a constant blanket to throw too especially if he’s under distress at all. Edelman is playing better and getting open is always a plus for New England’s offense.
