Darrelle Revis spoke to the media about playing his former team this Thursday Night, the Jets.

“I did my time there, my six years,” Revis said after the Patriots beat the Bills. “It was a great six years. We had success, two AFC Championship Games. We did the best we could, and that was that. I had a great time.”

Revis also talked about the quick turnaround to playing another game this Thurday.

“It’s tough on your body, definitely — that’s the biggest thing,” Revis said Monday when asked about the turnaround. “You turn around and play a game, and in a couple of days it’s more so just from a physical standpoint. It’s very short. Some guys bodies might not be ready for Thursday night. But it’s tough. It’s a tough schedule. It’s a tough deal. It’s something we have to deal with but at the same time, we’re prepared for these types of things — to have short weeks and prepare the best we can.

“These weeks here are very short. You cram a lot of stuff in, game-plan wise. As players we have to be really alert and attentive in meetings and make sure we get everything the coaches are telling us. At the same time, taking care of you body in these last couple days. Coaches are giving us a chance to do that. Those are probably the two most important things: just be attentive in meetings and take care of your body.”

Revis said things have changed since he played for the Jets from 2007 -2012.

[There’s] a lot that has changed,” he said when asked specifically about the Jets defense. “[Brian] Scottenheimer was the coordinator there when I was there. It’s a different coordinator now, and they run a totally whole different offense.

“[But] it’s a west coast offense — that’s what he runs. We’ve played other coaches who run the west coast offense. Once you’ve been doing this for awhile, things look the same, especially when you play against the same west coast offense. Coaches might put some kinks in here and there, or different things in the offense — their little touch. But at the same time, it’s still a west coast offense.”

Revis touched on the loss of Jerod Mayo.

“The next guy has to step up in that spot in his spot and play. That’s how you have to look at it,” Revis said. “We have confidence in our guys, and we’ll just try and continue to improve and try to get better. That’s what we have to focus on. It’s a big loss for us. Like I said, he’s one of the biggest leaders on this team, and it’s a big loss. But at the same time, we just wish for a fast recovery on his part, and hopefully, he can get back as fast as he can.”
