The Patriots released 2nd year man Kenbrell Thompkins 2 days ago and now the wide out will be in the silver and black.

According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, the Oakland Raiders claimed the wide receiver today.

Thompkins was an undrafted signee for the Patriots in 2013. He caught 32 passes for 466 yards and four touchdowns.

This season he played in 2 of the team’s 4 games. He caught 5 passes for 37 yards week one against the Dolphins. He played against his new team the Raiders in week 3, catching one pass for 16 yards.

Belichick stated he would love to work with Thompkins again and reports suggested the Pats would bring him back if he cleared waivers, however, most knew that was unlikely.

The Patriots wide out position was beginning to get crowded. The team has Edelman, Amendola already on the active roster. Dobson is closing in on being 100% and the team gets back Brian Tyms.
