The Patriots activated Brandon Browner and Brian Tyms from the suspension list. They had until 4 p.m. today.

CB Brandon Browner was suspended four games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy and WR Tyms was suspended for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

The big body Browner should add a boost to the Pats secondary, giving them a great 1-2 punch with Revis, and WR Tyms should give the wide outs a boost and add an extra weapon for Tom Brady.

To make these moves possible, the Pats had to make 2 roster moves which they did.

They released DT Joe Vellano, he played in 5 games this season, recording 6 tackles and a sack. He hasn’t performed overwhelming good this year, so this move isn’t too big of a surprise.

The Pats also put defensive end Michael Buchanan on season-ending injured reserve list to make room.
