Patriots Vs Chiefs: Keys to the Game

500x305-ninkovich-20111121

Monday is finally here and soon Monday Night will be here and we will all get to watch this interesting and great game between the Pats and Chiefs.

The game begins at 8:10 p.m. on ESPN.

The Patriots will be without Alfonzo Dennard, so Logan Ryan will get the start and this will be the last game that CB Brandon Browner and WR Brian Tyms will have to miss, due to suspensions.

The Chiefs will get back their number one running back Jamaal Charles for the game.

The keys to the game for New England will depend on two positions on defense and one on offense.

Patriots OL must protect Tom Brady: That is the number one key tonight on offense. If the guys upfront protects Tom Brady then Brady can be Brady and the Pats can score some touchdowns instead of struggling and settling for field goals. Tonight the Pats will need more than field goals to win. This is a good team they’re facing and not the Oakland Raiders. We should see more of Bryan Stork tonight, so we will see if he can improve the offensive line, which I think he can. The number one guy the Pats have to stop, will be inside pressure from Dontari Poe.

Patriots DL must stop the run: The Pats will be without DL Sealver Siliga, who has been placed on short-term IR. He was a good run stuffer, but now the Pats will adjust. Chris Jones is still there though, and he made the biggest impact when he came back after the Miami game against the run. The Pats will rotate some guys, but the DL has to step up. Taking away Charles and Davis in the run game is the number one thing because the Chiefs thrive off it. They’re run first so New England needs to make them one-dimensional.

Patriots must stop the tight ends: The other big thing for the defense to do is take away the tight ends and make Smith go to his receivers. Travis Kelce is the number one tight end the Pats have to stop. Smith has been going to him a lot. Shut him down along with Anthony Fasano, the Pats defense should do good. The Patriots want to put all of the offensive pressure on Alex Smith and his wide receivers.

  1. […] I guess the Pats should read my previews because I said in order to win, they have to stop the run and the tight end Kelce. They did neither and got crushed on defense. […]
