New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Patriots Vs Vikings Preview

The Patriots will play the Vikings in less than an hour today!

The Patriots will not face Adrian Peterson, who has been deactivated, due to being arrested for injury of a child. Peterson spanked his child with a switch (which is a thin branch with no leaves that bend) and whipped his son all over with it, leaving cuts and bruises. His son is 4 years old, and it happened in May.

The Patriots defense has been working on tackling and doing the small things right, which is what cost them against the Dolphins. Even without Adrian Peterson, the Vikings will still try to run against New England with Matt Asiata, who will have success if the Pats run defense is not better than last week. The Pats rush defense will also have to contain Cordarrelle Patterson, who ran 3 times for 102 yards and a touchdown against the Rams. They will look to spy on him the entire game and play Revis or speedier corners Ryan or Arrington against him. All 3 are good tacklers and have speed that should keep up with the talented player. The Pats number one goal will be to take away Patterson and then stop the run.

They will also look to shut down Greg Jennings, who has begun to emerge in Minnesota and growing trust with Matt Cassel. The Pats secondary will be tested today and if they play good they should hold down Minnesota’s offense.

The Patriots number one goal on offense will be to keep Tom Brady upright and protected throughout the game. They will be short Ryan Wendell, but Bryan Stork and Josh Kline might get playing time in Wendell’s place and hopefully Devy’s place. The Pats will look to keep Everson Griffin at bay and handle the rest of the pressure.

Edelman and Gronk will be the go to guy and I expect Gronk to have a great game. The Pats would love to see Amendola, LaFell, or Thompkins really step up today if Dobson doesn’t play.

The Pats will be more balanced today to help take the pressure off of the passing game.
