The Patriots reached 75 on the roster by yesterday’s deadline.

They cut DL Ben Bass, who they traded with Dallas for, safety Travis Hawkins, receivers Derrick Johnson, Wilson Van Hooser, LB Deonate Skinner, and DB Jemea Thomas.

They also put RB Tyler Gaffney and LB Cameron Gordon on injured reserve.

Wilson Van Hooser has gotten interest from other teams, and a good player for the practice squad.

The biggest story yesterday was the Pats decision to trade long time guard Logan Mankins to the Buccaneers for Tim Wright.

The Pats have till Sunday at 4 p.m. to get to the final roster of 53.
