The Patriots have released veterans Tommy Kelly, Will Smith, and James Anderson, according to Adam Schefter.

It’s surprising to see the Pats release all three of these players. The Pats could bring back one of them, or all three after week one because they don’t have to guarantee their salaries.

The Pats freed up $1.80 million in cap space with the release of Kelly and Smith.

They save $635,000 with the release of James Anderson.
