The Patriots and the Eagles practiced in pads for the 2nd time today, and the rain was brutal at times.

WR Jeremy Gallon, T Chris Martin, RB Tyler Gaffney, TE Michael Hoomanawanui, C Bryan Stork, LB Cameron Gordon, TE D.J. Williams, DT Chris Jones, DT Sealver Siliga, S Kanorris Davis, LB Ja’Gared Davis, S Tavon Wilson, LB Jerod Mayo, LB James Anderson, and TE Terrence Miller did not practice.

It was a cold, rainy day in New England, with a constant breeze and temperature of high 60s.

Tom Brady had a rough stretch during the hardest rainfall, throwing 3  incompletions and taking a sack. He came back from it though, hitting Edelman twice in a row, including a great touchdown up the seam.

Tom Brady was 11 of 16 during 11-0n-11s and 6 of 10 during 7-on-7s.

Jeff Howe, broke down Brady’s targets:

Shane Vereen (5 of 5), Julian Edelman (5 of 7), Kenbrell Thompkins (3 of 5), Brandon LaFell (2 of 4), Danny Amendola (1 of 2), Brian Tyms (1 of 2). One incompletion was batted.

Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t get as many reps as he had been, but he went 3 of 5 during 11-on-11s, and 1 of 2 during 7-on-7s.

Ryan Mallett was able to get more reps today as he continues to heal from his tweaked knee.

He was 3 of 6 during 11-on-11s and 3 of 3 during 7-on-7s. His incompletions were three drops by Brian Tyms, Wilson Van Hooser, and Brandon Bolden.

Right now, Tyms looks to be in the lead to make the roster over Josh Boyce.

Jamie Collins was a standout today. He stuck to the Eagles running backs and tight ends, and held his own against them in the  red zone which is very difficult to do. Collins forced a LeSean McCoy fumble after the RB caught a pass and tried to run.

Stevan Ridley has had another good day, getting in the end zone for a touchdown.

Shane Vereen had a good day catching passes and had a few good runs.

Right now, Brandon Bolden looks like the odd man out.

The Patriots and Eagles will hold a walk-through session tomorrow, but it will be closed to the public.
