The Patriots completed their first joint practice of the week with the Eagles today. They were in full pads in front of a record crowd of 25,317.

WR Jeremy Gallon, T Chris Martin, RB Tyler Gaffney, TE Michael Hoomanawanui, C Bryan Stork, LB Cameron Gordon, TE D.J. Williams, DT Chris Jones, DT Sealver Siliga, S Kanorris Davis, LB Ja’Gared Davis, S Tavon Wilson, LB Jerod Mayo, and LB James Anderson did not practice.

Ryan Mallett returned to practice for the first three team periods before sitting the rest of practice out. Gronk and Dobson did not join in during any of the team drills today. Aaron Dobson and Dominique Easley practiced for an hour before doing conditioning work. Easley did 1-on-1s, but not Dobson.

Tom Brady completed 8 of 10 passes during 7-on-7s, and 15 of 22 passes during 11-0n-11s.

Jeff Howe broke down his targets:

Kenbrell Thompkins (4 of 7), Brandon LaFell (5 of 5), Julian Edelman (5 of 5), Shane Vereen (3 of 5), James Develin (3 of 3), Danny Amendola (2 of 4), James White (1 of 1).

Thompkins had a good day, he had NO drops. Brady threw a beauty down the sideline to Thompkins, who beat CB Cary Williams. Williams pulled one of his antics and shoved KT to the ground, but KT did not retaliate.

The cornerbacks of the Eagles were no match against Amendola and Edelman during 1-on-1s and the Pats linebackers were not ready for the Eagles running backs. Hightower had a hard time against McCoy and Sproles.

The Preseason Game against the Redskins was just what the doctor ordered for Jimmy Garoppolo, as he’s been lights out through camp this week.

Derrick Johnson caught 3 straight passes from Garoppolo at one point today. He’s been a good backup slot option for Jimmy Garoppolo.

Brian Tyms had a few reps with the starters today, which is big for the free agent signee.

James Devlin has been a running back, full back, and a tight end. He caught all 3 passes Brady threw his way, including a touchdown.

Revis stopped running on a play against Jeremy Maclin, who beat him for a long touchdown pass. I don’t know why Revis suddenly stopped.

Malcolm Butler got some work in with the 1s today, he’s been a standout rookie at corner this camp.

Center Ryan Wendell had a touchdown grab today on a fake field goal!

The Pats and Eagles will meet up again tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the final open session for the public.
