Brian Tyms will be facing a 4-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance.

The NFL did not release what the banned substance was but Tyms says it’s for Adderall.

“I’ve had a prescription for it since I was 9,” Tyms said, via CSNNE.com. “It costs money to get all that stuff situated. Money which I didn’t have to spend. It was my fault. I shoulda brought it to the NFL and said, ‘Hey, I take this from time to time before it got to that point.’ But it wasn’t like I’m using it as something to boost my ratings. I been taking it since I was 9. That and Ritalin. I can’t worry about that. I put that in God’s hands. I just come out and try to play to get on this team.”

Tyms also talks about keeping the suspension out of his mind.

“I don’t know if you feel it coming out here on this practice field but everybody’s serious,” he pointed out. “It’s not, ‘OK, this is just another practice.’ The level of intensity is high so I don’t really have time to sit back and think, ‘Wow, I’m missing the first four games. The first time I do that, I’ll hear, ‘Hey Brian, sub in.’ And then Tom calls a play and I don’t know what I’m doing because I’m thinking about a suspension. I just come out here and try to stay good on my assignments, making all my blocks, running my routes at the right depth and cheering on my teammates.”

Tyms should’ve brought this to the NFL’s attention and had it situated, since the players know the rules but this punishment is laughable now.

Taking Adderall from time-to-time gets a worse punishment than beating your finance unconscious, Ray Rice got a 2 game suspension for that act.

This is the NFL Roger Goodell is promoting.
