The Patriots concluded their 2nd joint practice of training camp today with the Washington Redskins after going almost 3 hours in the hot sun.

Brady talked about working out under the hot sun.

“Yeah, it builds some mental toughness. You see where you’re at. It’s certainly not easy to come out here and be out here for three hours and every drill is competitive and every drill you want to do the right thing but that’s where the mental toughness comes into play. You have to hunker down and see where you’re at. Our guys have worked pretty hard over the last couple days. [You’ve] lost a lot of fluid, you have to get in and really hydrate yourself so you can come out tomorrow and be at it again.”

Tom Brady completed 21 of 31 passes during 11-on-11s and 12 of 16 during 7-on-7s.

He had another great day and was surgical during the no-huddle portion.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald breaks down Brady’s targets.

“Danny Amendola (10 of 11), Julian Edelman (8 of 9), Brandon LaFell (6 of 7), Kenbrell Thompkins (4 of 6), Shane Vereen (1 of 5), James White (1 of 1), Stevan Ridley (1 of 1), Wilson Van Hooser (1 of 1), Josh Boyce (1 of 1), Justin Jones (0 of 1). Four incompletions didn’t have an intended target.”

During the two joint practices, Brady is 60 of 80 passes total.

Ryan Mallett had another solid day going for 7 of 9 during 7-on-7s and 8 of 13 during 11-on-11s.

Jimmy Garoppolo was 3 of 4 passing during 7-on-7s and 0 for 4 during 11-on-11s with an interception.

Brandon LaFell has been great down in Richmond. He made another nice grab today, a one-handed touchdown catch during one-on-ones.

The connection between Mallett and Tymes keep producing great plays. The duo hooked up for a long touchdown. Tymes has been very impressive.

If Thompkins keeps dropping or if Dobson doesn’t produce again this season, I don’t see the harm in giving those reps to Tymes.

Julian Edelman is still being the dominate Minitron, we all know and love. Today, he and Brady, hooked up on a 35 yard touchdown during 11-on-11s.

RG3 tried to hit Desean Jackson for a touchdown, but Revis denied that with a great pass breakup.

The defensive line showed up today, getting two big sacks without Wilfork, Tommy Kelly or Siliga.

Vince Wilfork had the play of the day when he intercepted RG3!

I’ll end on that great note!

The Pats practice again tomorrow at 8:35 a.m.
