The Patriots took the field again today for day 2 of training camp.

WR Aaron Dobson, ST Matthew SlaterCB Alfonzo Dennard, LB Deontae Skinner, DL Dominque Easley, WR Jeremey Gallon and DT Tommy Kelly did not participate in practice. WR Jemea Thomas practiced on Thursday, but not today.

Tom Brady had a good day, going 5 for 9 in 11-on-11 drills and 7 for 14 in 7-on-7 drills.

Jimmy Garoppolo had a bad 2nd day at camp, going 3 for 8 in 7-on-7 drills and 3 for 7 in 11-on-11 drills. He also threw 2 interceptions.

Ryan Mallett had a good day, however, going 6 for 10 in 7-0n-7 drills and 6 for 8 in 11-on-11 drills.

Brandon LaFell had a good day at practice today, better than yesterday. He did not suffer any drops like yesterday.

During a drill where coaches were hitting the receviers hands when they were trying to catch the ball, Kenbrell Thompkins dropped a few.

Kenbrell Thompkins did have another great day overall. He made two great diving catches in the end zone again today. He beat Darrelle Revis for a touchdown today. He continues to work privately with Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, and Gronkowski.

CB Daxton Swanson, a 2nd year pro, is having an impressive off-season so far. He made a nice interception of rookie Jimmy Garoppolo.

Tight End Justin Jones is standing out due to his size but he’s not making any huge plays that turns your head, but his hands are great. He’s catching everything and he made a nice touchdown grab today.

To be honest, Zach Sudfeld turned heads during training camp and he was cut during the season. So, it doesn’t always mean Jones won’t make an impact if he makes the team.

Brandon Bolden is not having a good camp. He has had fumbling issues. He fumbled an exchange with QB Garoppolo.

Shane Veeren got a lot of passes today and had a good day.

RB James White has been solid this training camp, doing a little bit of everything.

Michael Hoomanawanui made a great touchdown catch today.

A scary moment happen when newly signed WR Greg Orton went down with a leg injury and had to be carted off. We don’t know how siginficant the injury is yet.

Gronk did all the drills but did not partake in the 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.

The Pats will be back tomorrow at 9:15 a.m. for their first practice in pads.
