Patriots released Adrian Wilson

Last Friday, news broke that the Patriots released veteran SS Adrian Wilson after one season.

Wilson had not played a regular season game due to a torn Achilles, he suffered during the team’s final preseason game.

Wilson struggled throughout the preseason before the injury, however.

Wilson signed a 3 year deal worth $5 million with the team last year.

After being released, Wilson tweeted out:

“Thank you to the Patriots organization for the opportunity. I look forward to the future”.

Wilson is an aging veteran that is coming off a major injury, it will be tough for him to find a new landing spot before the season.

The Patriots love 2nd year man Duron Harmon and I expect him to be the day one starter.

The Patriots also brought back Patrick Chung, who will offer depth, and special team qualities.

Tavon Wilson is also on the team, but he is another good special teams player, and only plays a little. Still a good depth player in New England.

The Pats may add another SS in the draft.
