Patriots free agent running back LeGarrette Blount signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday.
Blount signed a deal for 2 years worth 3.85 million, with a $950,000 signing bonus, according to Ravens Insider Aaron Wilson.
Blount can make an additional $150,000 if he gains 800 rushing yards in 2014 to push the deal to 4 million.
LeGarrette Blount rushed for 772 yards and seven touchdowns last season with the Patriots. Blount could pound in the tough yards for first downs or break big runs for touchdowns. He single handily put the team on his back in the last game of the 2013 season against the Bills when he set a team record for 384 all purpose yards and 2 touchdowns.
Blount will be the 2nd running back for the Steelers, backing up Le’Veon Bell, who’s coming into his second year in the NFL.
Bell rushed for 860 yards and scored eight touchdowns last season with the Steelers.
Bell and Blount will go great together and the Steelers have boosted their backfield.
