CB Talib Has No Structural Damage To Knee

AFC Championship - New England Patriots v Denver Broncos

Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib has no structural damage to his knee according to Nick Underhill of MassLive.com.

Talib left the AFC Championship game after a hit from ex-Patriots and current Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker – a hit that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick later called “a deliberate attempt to take out Talib…one of the worst plays I’ve seen.”

Apparently the hit must not have been quite as severe as it was characterized by Belichick as Underhill described Talib as “just banged up.”

The injury diagnosis was particularly good news for Talib, who is set to become a free agent this March. Talib was also on the free agent market last offseason but had to settle for a one-year deal to return to New England, who had traded for him during the 2012 regular season.

After stellar play on the field and no reported off-the field problems in 2013, it is likely that Talib will have numerous suitors this offseason including the Patriots.
