Logan Mankins: “Focusing on the guys who put it on the line”

Over the weekend reports came out that teammates were getting frustrated with Rob Gronkowski not playing on Sunday after practicing all week.

Gronkowski took 50 reps a day, blocking guys, taking a lot of contact, and was the best player on the field for the Patriots. The defense couldn’t stop him but Gronk didn’t show up on Sunday and teammates are beginning to question him according to Ed Werner.

Gronk’s mom even came out to defend her son before the game making this a soap opera for some reason.

After the game when Mankins was asked about Gronk not playing he responded, “I don’t know, Mike. You know that was a huge win. We uh — I’d rather talk about the guys that frickin’ put it on the line tonight and played their butts off and how about K.T. [Kenbrell Thompkins]  making a huge catch, Tom throwing a perfect ball, the defense stepping it up, Gostkowski making big field goals; let’s talk about those guys.”

Felger pressed further on whether it was a distraction in the locker room.

“Not to us. We come in, game plan, work hard at practice,” Mankins said. “The guys that are there, they’re there; the guys that aren’t, they’re not.”
