Reports: Vince Wilfork out for the season

By Aaron Laskowitz:

The New England Patriots have taken yet another devastating blow. The Patriots defensive tackle, Vince Wilfork suffered a torn Achilles in last night’s 30-23 win over the Falcons. He is most likely out for the remainder of the season, the Boston Globe reported.

Wilfork left the game early in the first quarter, limping off the field with an apparent ankle injury. He was later taken off the field and into the locker room on the back of a cart. He never returned.

New England has been thin on the defensive line side ever since Armond Armstead had surgery during training camp. Wilfork has been a vital piece to this defense, bringing his massive size and Pro-Bowl skills to the table.

The Patriots could make a playoff caliber team solely off of their injury report list. Vince Wilfork adds to Rob Gronkowski and newly acquired wide out Danny Amendola. Let’s wish him a good and speedy recovery.
