Tim Tebow has found himself a home in the NFL, and it is with a great team, the New England Patriots.
Tebow will report to the team’s minicamp tomorrow.
Bill Belichick was reportedly interested in drafting the QB in the 2nd or 3rd round, then was reported to have asked about trading for him, and now he signed him as a free agent. Belichick has always loved Tim Tebow as player and a person, and for Tebow this makes perfect sense. Tebow goes to a team that doesn’t let the media circus bother them, doesn’t have a QB controversy, and they will try to develop him as a QB while using him in games.
Tebow gets to sit, watch, and learn from the best QB in the NFL, and from the best headcoach, while contributing to the offense in someways. I think Tebow will be put on the depth chart as the 3rd QB, and get to come in on short yardage, and goal line situations as a RB, and TE.
Chris Mortensen is reporting that Tebow signed as a QB, and since it is Mallett’s 3rd year he will probably be on the trade block in 2014 if Tebow can make progress as a QB.
Some seem to think Tebow will get cut, but I believe Tebow will make the team as the 3rd string QB. Belichick will use Tebow in the correct ways, short yardage runs, and goal line situations, and trick plays at tight-end. Tebow will be used and moved around a lot on the offense. I bet Tebow gets to score a TD against the Jets and Broncos this season, because that is Belichick style. But that is just thoughts from around the league, Belichick may be devoted to only having him as a backup QB.
