Patriots headcoach Bill Belichick was reported few weeks back that he “hated” Tebow as a player, and when Boston.com asked Belichick if that was true, Belichick responded: “Every single player has strengths and weaknesses but regardless of that, for anyone to have represented that is the way I feel about Tim Tebow is completely untrue, baseless and irresponsible. It is unfortunate that something so inaccurate was reported.”
I thought the report was false from the start because Belichick had a pre-draft visit with Tebow, and all 3 years Tebow has been in the league, Belichick has praised him as a player and a person.
Going back to last October Belichick talked a lot about Tebow before the Patriots played the Jets: “When he’s the quarterback, he’s the quarterback: He can run, he can throw, he can run the option, he can run their regular offense,” Belichick said. “They can run Tebow-type plays that Denver ran last year, or that (offensive coordinator Tony) Sparano ran when he was in Miami.”
Belichick didn’t hate Tebow in October and he doesn’t hate him now.
