New England releases DL Brandon Deaderick

The New England Patriots released defensive linemen Brandon Deaderick, the 7th round draft in 2010 from Alabama. He started next to Wilfork in some of the most important games down the stretch and finished the year with 14 tackles, one sack and two forced fumbles. Deaderick was facing some stout competition to make the team against free agents Armond Armstead and Tommy Kelly. The move isn’t very surprising, given who the Patriots signed during free agency, but it is surprising it was this early.
