Free Agency Focus: Paul Kruger The Pass Rusher

Paul Kruger will be one of the best free agents in this year’s free agency. Paul Kruger is an OLB, but really he is more a defensive end rusher. This past season Kruger over took Terrell Suggs as the team’s most dominant pass rusher. He accounted for 9 sacks on the season and applied constant pressure on the opposing team’s QB. Kruger is 6’4 and 270 pounds, and is 27 years old. He has high intelligence, power, and athleticism. He can rush anywhere on the line.

Paul Kruger most likely will not return to the Ravens because he will seek a contract that reflects his great 2012 season, and the Ravens, after the Flacco signing, simply do not have the money. The Ravens have huge contracts on their roster already and they have a free agent they must resign,  Dannell Ellerbe, there star LB. Kruger will test the free agency market, and he will command a high contract, but he is well worth it. He is young, talented, and has yet to play his complete best, which is scary, since he has already been great in the NFL. Kruger would provide New England with a pass rusher, a rusher from any where on the line and in any formation. Kruger would be a huge pick up for New England, not just for the upcoming season but for many seasons to come.

I don’t know if New England has Kruger on their radar, but they should. They might kick the wheels of Kruger and see what kind of deal they could get him for. The Colts are a team that are a threat to pick of the stud pass rusher. This guy is a proven talent in the NFL, and if I’m New England I at least try to pick him up. He could be the Patriots biggest free agent pick up.  Kruger would offer New England a defensive pass rusher with swagger and physicality, and meanness and aggressive play they lack. He could also provide New England with what they have been missing for years. A consistent pass rusher, who not only get sacks but provides constant pressure.
