NFL Draft Focus: Justin Hunter

Justin Hunter is a Wide Receiver who stands 6’4 and 200 pounds. Hunter is a true deep threat, with  long strides, physical, and great hands. Hunter can make some great catches, and hard catches. Hunter is without a doubt my favorite receiver in this draft, the Patriots lack a deep threat, and they desperately need one. Justin Hunter is the ideal guy for New England, he would fit right in with the Patriots, and Tom Brady. Rookie wide receivers have done well in the past few seasons, and Hunter with a good QB could do as good as A.J. Green and Julio Jones have done respectively. I’m very high on Justin Hunter and the Patriots need to focus on a deep threat in this draft and Justin Hunter needs to be that guy.

Justin Hunter can run routes, but he gets up the field quick by taking long strides rather then by speed. He has speed still, but has lost a bit of speed thanks to an ACL tear in 2011. Hunter though, is one of the most physically gifted wide outs in this draft. The Patriots could only muster an embarrassing 13 points against the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game loss, and a reason they couldn’t score against the Ravens were because they did not have a deep threat and a physical wide receiver, they lacked both, and Hunter possess both qualities. Justin Hunter will workout at the combine, and I can’t wait, but lets not base everything on that, seeing as the combine is a far cry from telling how a player will fare in the NFL. Justin Hunter is a freak athlete who can make all the catches, get up the field quick with his strides, run routes, jumps high, and physical.

Justin Hunter is projected to go in the second or third round. He would be a great steal for the New England Patriots, taking him with their second pick would be ideal, great pick up in the second round.
