A Moment Of Silence Should Be Held For Kasandra Perkins

My opinion is not associated with anyone else who works on this site. I think if the Chiefs are going to have a moment of silence for anyone tomorrow it should be for the real victim Kasandra Michelle Perkins the 22 year old girlfriend of Belcher and the mother of their 3 month old daughter Zoey who is now left without parents. Reports say the two had an explosive argument before Belcher shot her multiple times but it doesn’t matter what the argument was over there was no reason for him to kill her in this horrendous act of violence. Jennifer Ashley a friend of Kasandra Perkins said “She was sweet, very nice and down to earth,” She cared about people. She was a person who didn’t talk about her problems”, Another friend Brianne York said “She was a very good person, she was fun to be around and very loving,” I don’ t know why he’d want to hurt her like that. “I love her and I wish she was still here . . . and I wish Javon was still here, too. I think they could have worked it out. It shouldn’t have happened.”

I echo her words this violent act never should have happen. Nobody knows what happen, and why Belcher made the choices he did, it seems like it was in the moment of a rage and he made a horrific choice of ending both lives. He also left a scarring impact on the very guys he thanked before he ended his life in front of them, Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, and head coach Romeo Crennel, and more members of the staff, and now they won’t be able to wash the image of that from their minds, and have to relive the nightmare a 100 times over in their dreams. Belcher didn’t have to make the choices he made Saturday morning, and should have stopped to think it through. Storms happen to us all but they never last and if you haven’t heard the song “Storms run out of rain” by Gary Allan you should take a listen to it, it is a very beautiful song.

The stories will be about what Belcher did, but I think we should stop and think about the victim Perkins and remember her and pray for everyone impacted by what happen yesterday morning. I pray for all of them and I don’t judge Belcher by any means but I wish he made a different choice or took a breath. This shouldn’t have happen, and I pray deeply for the daughter left without parents. Best wishes to the Chiefs team and coaches in today’s game. If the NFL has a moment of silence it should be for Perkins.
