Preview Jets vs Patriots

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope each and every one of you have a great thanksgiving day! The Jets and Patriots are set for a prime time match up on thanksgiving night. It comes on NBC. The Patriots are the visitor in this game. Last season The Patriots won big in prime time. This time it is setting up a huge game for both sides. The Jets are trying to climb back into the playoff picture. The Patriots are trying to smash that for the Jets all together. Before the Colts game I said the Patriots and Tom Brady are better when they are mad. They are mad this time around playing the Jets. The Patriots beat the Jets in over time in their first meeting this season. You wouldn’t know following all the fan reaction, and every TV personality reaction. Some were calling it a moral victory for the Jets. This time the Patriots will want to make sure its anything but a moral victory for their arch rivals.

Tom Brady: I expect him to have another mega performance this season. Multiple touchdown tosses in this game because he is a little angry after their last meeting and people not being very happy with how the Patriots offense manage or actually mis managed the end of the game. Brady will want this game over before it begins. He will quickly look to end the game early 4th. He still has weapons even though the best weapon on the team Rob Gronkowski tight end will be out. His other tight end Aaron Hernandez is back for this game along with a few other tight ends to throw too.

The Tight Ends: Aaron Hernandez is back for this game. What a time to come back too. We needed that. Hernandez will get some targets to get the Patriots up the field. Brady will look for Hernandez more in this game in the red zone. Visanthe Shiancoe should see more action in this game. I’m not sure if Brady will target him in the passing game but Shiancoe over the years has proven to be a good target and with a QB like Tom Brady throwing to him he should look good if called upon in the passing game. I expect Michael Hoomanawanui and Daniel Fells to help out in the blocking game. Hoomanawanui has been used in the passing game as well. All tight ends can be great weapons for New England in the passing game. Gronkowski can’t be replaced. He will be missed. But the Patriots can more then survive without him.

Brandon Lloyd: Has to step up now. The Patriots need him to be the play maker he was suppose to be when they brought him in. He has to go deep and when given the opportunity to do so he needs to make the most of it. In the last game against the Jets Lloyd had a bad  game to say the least. Dropping passes on each deep pass thrown to him. I think New England will look to him more in this game then they did against the Colts. Lloyd might benefit the most from Gronkowski being out. Lloyd should have the option for a deep play and a touchdown in this game. Wes Welker will probably provide another stellar game. Welker will give you what he gives you on a daily bases. Chains moving and a dependable guy. Kinda like Tom Brady’s blanket. Julian Edelman had a big game against the Colts. He was having a good game vs the Ravens as well before he got injured. He will have another good game. Brady trust Edelmen and Edelmen seems to keep getting better in the passing game. Enough to help to New England in this match up.

The defense: In the last game the defense did their very best to make Sanchez look like Peyton Manning. This time around maybe they won’t do that. Maybe for the second straight week the Patriots defense will put their big boy pants on and play some ball. McCourty did a great job at safety in there last meeting. He still at safety and has had good games ever since making the move. The Jets instead attacked the corners and didn’t go deep over the middle to test McCourty. They attacked Arrington and the linebackers who would drop into coverage. The linebackers still can’t cover. But the corners have been adjusted. The rookie Dennard is making strides and still improving with every game. He is coming off a nice performance against Andrew Luck and the Colts. He had an 87 yard interception return for a touchdown in that game. McCourty will probably give safety help to Dennard in this game which seems to help the rookie out. The other corner made quiet the impression in his debut with New England against the Colts returning a interception for a touchdown Aqib Talib. Talib will play man to man I assume with one of their Wide outs. He is a shut down corner who plays great press. He is a play maker. This will help New England this time around. It should help the Patriots to keep the Jets from going wild in the passing game like last time. Spikes meet Greene again. Spikes will focus on shutting down the running game. Spikes, Mayo, and Hightower should stop the running game with success along with Vince Wilfork. Cunningham, Ninkovich, and Hightower will apply the pressure. If the Patriots get pressure this should make it a long day for the Jets. Getting pressure is the most important thing. When you get pressure great things can happen. The Patriots defense is great at causing turnovers and the Jets offense is great at turning it over. Hopefully for the Patriots defense’s sake the Jets are in a giving mood.

Over all I expect Tom Brady to be mad going into this game. With a point to prove and another message to be sent. The Patriots beat them last time but you wouldn’t have known it if you didn’t watch it. Brady will try to send the message this time that New England definitely won with a dominant performance. The defense should be very mad heading into this game considering the fan base and TV experts were ready to take them out back and drop them. They were embarrassed and destroyed by the Jets offense. The defense gave up a lead and almost lost the game. But they made the play in over time to win the game for New England. But this time they really need to step up and I expect them too. I don’t think the game will be like last time. I don’t think it will take over time for the winner. I think the Patriots win this more convincingly then the last match up.

New England Patriots at New York Jets – The Patriots offense seems to be firing on all cylinders and even though the last time these teams met it was a very close game, I think Brady and the Patriots are absolutely going to blow the doors off an over rated Jets team. click to check out this article to learn more and how to bet it!! http://nfllatestnews.com/turkey-day/
