The Patriots have a tendency to win big when they get tired of hearing about the other team and the other team’s QB. Tom Brady came out in this game with a message to be sent. Consider the message sent. Tom Brady now has 21 touchdown passes and only 3 interceptions. Tom Brady is having a great year. Brady had a great game against the Colts out shining Andrew Luck in every way. Tom Brady was 24 of 35 for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns with no turnovers.
Julian Edelman had a monstrous day. He had 222 all purpose yards. He return a punt for a touchdown in the game vs the Colts. Edelman caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. He also had a reverse that went for 47 yards. Edelman has added another dangerous weapon to this Patriots team that will surely help out for the remainder of the season.
Rob Gronkowski had a big day ye again. He had seven catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Gronkowski became the first tightend in NFL history to catch 10 touchdown passes in 3 consecutive seasons. Congratulations to Rob Gronkowski on that feat! Unfortunately though he was hurt in the game with a broken forearm. He had surgery today and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. He may not return till the playoffs though for New England. The Patriots can’t replace him and what he does for this team but they still have lots of weapons and means to get by till then.
The Patriots defense showed up huge in this game. Forcing Andrew Luck into 4 total turnovers. 3 interceptions and a fumble. Aqib Talib started things off for the Patriots by intercepting Luck and returning it for a touchdown and putting the Patriots up 21-14. Alfonzo Dennard had a good game and picked off Luck and return it for an touchdown. Safety Tavon Wilson added an interception as well. Rob Ninkovich strip sacked Andrew Luck.
McCourty had said the Talib play really got the defense going. “Oh yeah, that’s a big spark,” said McCourty. “Anytime we get a turnover or a takeaway, it really gets the defense going, it gets the team going. But when you can turn it into points, it kind of gives you momentum and lead you into getting another defensive stop.”
